Corgi Contract

This is our Dog Contract, which every customer will be given and must sign when they receive their Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

Vets usually recommend that every dog be spayed or neutered by 6 months old, but only because some breeds and mix-breeds enter puberty at that age. Many shelters spay and neuter dogs as young as 2 months old, so it's done before adoption. Both practices are good for the businesses, but not good for the health of the dogs.

Recent scientific studies show that spaying/neutering too early will stunt the growth in dogs. By doing it too soon a dog has increased chances of developing a variety of health issues in the future. Most studies have focused on muscle and bone development.

The studies show reduced chances of future health problems when you wait closer to puberty for your breed of dog before spaying and neutering.

We recommend that you don't spay/neuter until after 6 months old, but before 9 months old. Pembroke Welsh Corgis usually enter puberty between 9-12 months old.

Once you spay or neuter the Pembroke Welsh Corgi you don't have to worry about violating the contract.
